Finally got this guy finished, quite happy with the final outcome, but there are some things I can say I was not fully pleased with. But overall, I think he's not bad.
Lauinav - Yeah, for the recent one. Theme being "Defiance".
Thanks for the comments guys. As I said in a previous post, sometimes I just dislike the mini until its got more paint on it or finished. Then, it just comes together.
Great work on the BT, Kuffeh. I've never been able to paint in that gritty style (my marines always look like they just climbed out of the auto-wash), so I respect the amount of work it takes.
Also digging the scratchbuilt base. Not enough people understand how important a nice base is to taking the whole mini up another notch. Great work!
Jonathan - Indeed, bases are just as important at the mini itself. I am trying to get into the practice of doing some good bases - they add lots to the mini's overall feel.
Looks great Kuffeh. I realy like the shading on his power sword myself and it contrasts beautifully with the dark grit of the rest of the mini. Like Jonathan said as well, the base is really effective and really adds something extra. I'm terrible for rushing my bases. I need to go back through my warhammer army and redo a lot of them when I can bring myself to do so!
Elazar - I'm usually bad at bases. Quick and simple work just as well for me. I do want to improve this and get better at the bases in the future. As said, a base is just as important and adds character.
Thanks for the comments. That's why I chose a bright colour for the sword, I wanted it to stand out. However, I also wanted to do something other than the archetypical blue power sword.
Looking good enough mate. For an LO contest?
ReplyDeleteI think he looks pretty damn good. Very nice model!
ReplyDeleteLooking good indeed! The Shield is especially cool.

It looks grand, Kuffeh. All together a great mini. You have done well.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys. =)
