In all the years I have been playing Dwarfs, this is one hero that I have never actually had a painted model for, or even used. I honestly don't know why I haven't.

I have had this model since he came out, back in 7th Ed I think. I am now going through my boxes, and decided I need at least one Master Engineer, as they seem to have some good use.

Once I get around to playing with them, I'll probably drop a post about how well he faired.

For now, here is the model, sans base and backpack

The next rank of five old metal Ironbreakers have been completed.

These guys have been done for a while, just ran out of superglue to finish the bases. Got them fully sorted over the weekend.

I am really happy with how they have turned out, the blue and yellow look great together, and I think I prefer the silver axe icon to the gold. They don't look amazing as the shields were stripped and I am not sure I got all the paint. But they work.

Still need to work on making the silver highlights stand out well. You would have thought as a dwarf player I would know how to paint silver metal by now. Oh well.

And the rest of the pictures.
Back again! And more beards!

A cheeky Bank Holiday off, decided to get those five Ironbreakers sat on my desk sorted. Start to finish, took me from 2pm to about 11pm (including breaks, food and a few distractions). I have the blue trim to do on the bottom, which I'll do with the shields so its all together, and a few minor details on the minis.

The pictures are really bad as I rushed to get some done before I went to bed. There are highlights and shading. Honest! I'll get better pictures tomorrow, hopefully.
Will be planning a 1500pt army to add to my existing one. Might not be fully legal, as I have most of my core stuff already, but going through what I have before expanding into more and having to buy stuff. Anyway, with the Meet getting me playing a couple of games, and enjoying the hobby some more, I figured I'd see if I was still capable of painting with a brush to any degree of success. Turns out, I have done. Posted it via twitter last night, and loads of likes and retweets. So, happy with that. But LO is home, and it needs more beards and ale!

So, here is the drunken Bugman model from Bugman's bar.

Pretty happy with how he turned out considering I have not painted since May.
These guys have taken me some time to finally get painted. But I am quite happy with the overall result.

I have been on and off with these guys for some time, but finally over the Bank Holiday weekend I found some time to get them done. They are by no means perfect, the shields are not the best. But I have another 15 of these guys to get done, and bases to be made.

I mention the shields as some were not properly stripped down, and I should have gone with silver for the icon, not gold. Silly of me to forget that really, the next ones will be silver so that it stands out against the yellow better.

*Blows Dust off blog*

Hi there. It has been a very long time since I have used this thing. I did have plans of using a wordpress blog, but it does not get anyway near the traffic that Blogger does. It was being used (and still will be) for more roleplaying stuff.

I have updated some stuff there, which I didn't include on here. That being a second Grey Hunter pack and a Rune Priest were completed. See below..

http://s198.photobucket.com/user/Kuffeh/library/Space%20Wolves

But the true be told, I have barely lifted a paint brush since September. One or two attempts but I just can't bring myself to paint. It doesn't help that I am liking 40k less and less. The new "expansions" offer little except for GW to grab more money and remove any tactical thinking by giving everyone access to things that can cover for inherent problems an army might have. Just doesn't sound fun to me.

Instead I have just been bumming about. Not doing too much. I have started to do Roleplaying, I have completed a One Ring campaign, and now find myself in a Shadowrun campaign. I am also running Rise of the Runelords for Pathfinder with some of my friends online. Having a whale of a time trying that out and stuff. There might be posts about that when I get around to it.

Also, the dwarf book has brought be to the paint desk once again. If I am going to paint anything and get into it again, it'll probably be those guys.

From my previous dwarf stuff I have decided to go for a new scheme (see below for pictures). The reason being that I found the grey and turquoise I was using to be quite dull and lack any... pop. So I have this time decided to try and push myself by picking two colours that I have never really used before. Blue and Yellow. I like the scheme, and think it works really well.

I am not going to get the bulk of warriors done first, so I'm going to do some of the stuff I have and then more special units, and fill in the rest when need be. My aim is to have another 2500pts done by the end of the year.

So, I found a little bit of time this weekend (between getting smashed at Talisman) to get the bases of the wolf squad finished off. Again, these are quick photos taken on my phone camera so don't expect too much. So, first of all....

The bases. I decided that just sand and paint would be boring, so I wanted to add a little bit more character to them. A quick dig through my assorted ork bitz gave me some stuff to chuck on there next to stones. The final touch, and I think it adds a lot to them, is the small pieces of static grass. These are the GW 'Mordheim Turf'. They are really nice, coming in a pre-made little patch of different sizes, costing £8. This box should see me through at least another three or four squads. Not too bad.

Then we have multiple shots of the squad. I still haven't decided on the Great Company, but otherwise they are complete. I tried to get a good photo, but without a proper light tent it wasn't going to happen. Anyway, here they are:

Hopefully I'll get the company mark on there soon, then it is my first squad fully completed!
More work today equals two finished Hunters, minus the bases. Also some quick pictures, not the best I have done.
And now, it is fixed! Well, actually I got a new one, an even better one. I received it on Wednesday, and ever since been plugging away at a wolf. A Space Wolf.

A while ago I decided that I needed another 40k army, this time something with armour. And, being a lover of Anglo-Saxon and Viking history, I felt nothing sounded better than - VIKINGS IN SPACE. Aka, the Space Wolves. I have had a couple of boxes of stuff sat here since they came out, and just before the lamp went I converted (only very slightly) and prepared my first squad of Grey Hunters.

I love the Wolf fluff, and feel to the army (although I'm not a fan of the idea of marines riding giant wolves). But I am not a fan of the colour scheme. For a chapter famed for its berserker nature, I found the scheme GW gave them to be unsuitable. I don't understand the light blue armour, it just doesn't feel right with the background of the army. So, I decided to make mine less blue and more grey. I didn't want the old Pre-heresy scheme, but when it came down to it, I think I might have just gotten that anyway. I think he needs perhaps a little more blue into his armour - but overall I am really happy with him.

As you can see, he is quite grey, although these pictures might not be the best and the lighting may have let it down a little. :S The shoulder pad you can see here, is empty as I'm yet to decide what Great Company I want to run. I plan to stay clear of the usual - Ragnar and Grimnar - ones, but I don't know which I like the best yet.

You'll also see my attempt at battle damage. I think it looks OK, but needs work. I'm not entirely happy with its placement or look. I need to find a decent guide, and practice at this.

The other pad has a squad marking on it. This is dags, these turned out to be really hard as they had to be long and awkward to paint. I think it turned out fine in the end, if a little odd at the lengths.

I have also found a really nice way of highlighting red, a nice colour that is GW's Pallid Wych Flesh. It isn't as stark as white but instead gives it a nice little pink tone.

This will be on the whole pack, and other packs will just be variants - either different colours or patterns. It's a good way for the Wolves to be different, rather than the usual arrow or icon, it's just a pattern. And it'll be easier for me to spot who belongs in what squad.

It is a little hard to see, but on the picture below the pelt over his groin took a while to do. I wanted to do a sort of sandy wolf pelt, and overall I think it turned out OK but next time I might try and blend the colour more towards the centre.

You can also see the base, it is simple at the moment and I'm hoping to add something to it later. At the moment, the only static grass I have is a strong green one - doesn't really work in a desert situation. I might even start adding little bits and pieces to them - probably ork stuff as I have an abundance of that stuff lying about.

This will be odd, but I think that aside from the actual armour I spent the most of my time on the backpack. The little extra detail made it fun to paint. I spent a lot of time highlighting up the grenades and the blade sheaths.

Once again, I fell back on my favourite colour - turquoise as a spot colour. The ribbon and the icon here and on his forehead just work really well.

The bone also took a good while to sort out, so overall as a test model this guy took longer than I expected but I like the quality of him. I have a full squad of ten waiting - and another squad or two that I can make. Along with some terminators and characters.

I think my aim for this year is to slowly work through my unpainted pile. I still have a bunch of dwarfs to paint and some ideas for them, and finally might get that Orc and Goblin army off the floor and start on a new Ork army. So, hopefully it'll be a busy year of painting. And who knows, I might even get some games in and start winning. ;)Kuffehhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15362276686961154685noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1556299501260543912.post-85002767828746767692013-01-15T23:17:00.001+00:002013-01-15T23:17:59.689+00:00My Lamp Died!Simply as said my hobby lamp has died. It just flickers now. I'm looking for a replacement lamp, it must be daylight and it must be cheapish. Anyone got any ideas?Kuffehhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15362276686961154685noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1556299501260543912.post-21622884684450525642013-01-03T12:48:00.000+00:002013-01-06T19:27:40.016+00:00A decade of Beards and Ale

My current dwarf army

As you might have guessed from the multitude of posts with them in, I am a dwarf player. I have been one just just over a decade, they were my very first army and introduction into the Warhammer hobby. I am looking to expand my army this year, but I thought I'd have a look back at why I started them and where I intend to go from here. So if you dislike ale and beards (GODS FORBID IT!), you might not like to read on.

Dwarfs were my first army for Warhammer they were a Christmas present from my dad after I saw my first ever WHFB game being played. I should first explain this. I had gotten a hold of a copy of Heroquest from somewhere (I still have no idea where), and really wanted to play. My dad knew someone he was currently working with who did something similar, ie WHFB. And so we go to his and play. What I was presented with is still quite vivid in my mind. It was a battle of Orcs and Goblins against the old style Undead (when they were all one army). I was hooked. And thus got the Dwarfs for Christmas.

Warrior Unit Filler - Book of Grudges

As anyone who has ever been given a second hand anything knows, it is sometimes just not for you. However, it wasn't the case with myself and the dwarfs. The more of their army book I read, the more and more I began to love their culture, the models and history [fluff]. It is this reason why I have never even considered getting rid of the Dwarfs, they were my first and will be my last and oldest army.

My army hasn't always looked the same, not at all. I have so far had no less than four different looking dwarf armies. The first dwarf army I received was when I was twelve or thirteen, and was painted by someone else. But slowly over time, I began to amass my own army, painted by my own [not so] fair hand.

The second one was born at the point of the old 6th edition army book. So, obviously my chosen scheme was the same as everyone else's. Brown and green, the colours of the Dwarf hold of Karak Hirn [The Horn Hold]. I owned [and still do] somewhere in the region of one hundred of the then new dwarfs. It was quite an army, but as the scheme was the same as the 'official' one from the army book I felt a little upset. Nothing stood as it being different and MY army. So then came another change.

My Dwarf army, in their third look

This army came about towards beginning of 7th edition of WHFB right at the end of 6th edition.. New, plastic models came out. None of which suffered the horrendous disease that swept the previous models of... giant hand syndrome [instead some have 'stupidly-long-arm-itous']. The third reinvention of my dwarfs were in a dark blue and cream scheme. The problem was the bases just had some small basalt stuck to them, parts of which hid some of the model itself. And it was a common scheme, so again the army never really seemed to be my own and special.

The final change to my army is the fourth and current look. This is a turquoise and grey scheme, something a little different to the usual dwarf scheme and does make them stand out a little bit more. I am currently really happy with the scheme and so I'm looking forward to expanding the army in the future.

My converted Runelord

So, after all that history into my dwarfs, what does the future hold for them? (Hopefully no colour changes). I mainly want to try an paint up some of the stuff I have, without going any buying more models unless I need them. I do want to expand and convert up some units such as Hammerers, Rangers and Quarrellers but I have others to paint first.

I have a lot of characters which I want to get painted up nicely, and in many cases converted. Perhaps the biggest model I want to do, as it is a sort of display piece, is the Anvil of Doom. I don't like the current model, as it makes no sense. How does it get to the battlefield without wheels? And do the guards carry a special piece of floor for it to sit on in battle? I want something special as it is a kind of centrepiece in the army, however as it stands I haven't come up with a decent enough idea that I like and is workable.

Along side the anvil conversion, I would love to add a whole bunch more dwarfs to my army. More converted heroes, units and war machines are the way forward, to making the army stand out and look unique. I've also go a lot of older dwarf special character models, in fact I own almost all the special character models from 6th edition to the current edition [except the newest Thorgrim Grudgebearer] . I'd like to get these guys painted up, especially with some having multiple versions such as Gotrek and Felix (I have two, plus the shieldbearer version). I would also like to convert up 'priests' of the three main gods, like warrior priests. Maybe.

I think the last thing I would do is get some actual fluff down for the army. It is something I attempted for my previous version, but it never really got anywhere. It would be fun to have a history with the army, so rather it being a generic dwarf lord fighting, it is in fact King Ulrik Flambeard if the XX hold in a battle to defend his kingdom/farms. I would just like to do this, as I have yet to really stick my nose into the pages of my army's annuals and remember certain deeds or grudges.

So, I'll said it again this is over a decade of beards and ale for me. Raise an ale to the beards?Kuffehhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15362276686961154685noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1556299501260543912.post-36178286733537701272012-12-30T00:39:00.001+00:002012-12-30T00:39:13.729+00:00Secret Santa Project complete. Another year has slowly sailed on by, leaving us to do the
trend of looking back over our year in the hobby and discuss. So, I’m going to do just that.
So, looking over my blog statistics and my spread sheet I
keep I have done a total of 55 posts and painted a 105 models. It sounds like a lot, and in many ways it is
but I feel as though I could do a lot more.
So, here’s hoping for next year!

My year started good, I started off expanding my dwarf armyto 2500 points. This involved me pushing
my chances a little bit, mainly by doing some converting of models – such as my
runesmith and runelord. Both of which I
am rather happy with. Unfortunately from
here it rather went downhill. After
August I painted the blood bowl team which I sold on eBay and my last project
of the year was the secret Santa for librarium-online.com.

The eBay stuff I am happy with the haul, making over £200
for myself from various items – most of which were minis – something I might be
trying to repeat again (I have a whole load of high elves to flog and some
elder). Maybe even other stuff to
consider for later is buying a box to paint up and flog. I’m even considering selling off my Scions ofRa marines as I never use them; they’re just sat at the parents doing nothing.

So, overall my year in painting has been a quiet one,
nothing really to speak off. However,
where my painting has lacked I have done plenty of other stuff. I will admit, quite a bit of this is based
off of the computer. Myself and a couple
of friends have been blasting our way through World of Warcraft trying to get a
character to level 90 with the new expansion – Mists of Panderia. This has been great fun, and has led to me
spending more time on the game, burning time on it. In fact, too much time. This is one of those things I’m going to make
a resolution to, but fail at within the first week, so let’s not do that. Aside from WOW I have discovered my love for
the Civilisation games and completed two of them this Christmas (achievement
hunting, as I love it). And the steam
holidays sale has found me buying Blood Bowl, Oblivion and Mass Effect
1&2. Need to keep away from that
now…

This isn’t to say that I haven’t done any gaming; on the
contrary I have done quite a lot! I
picked up a number of board games this year, and have played these A LOT. Loads being played with the family-to-be,
mostly 7Wonders, and quite a few when friends are about. All worth their money, as I love evenings
like that and would love to have more next year.

It’s not only been board games I’ve played, I have even
managed to get some tabletop gaming in this year! I have tried to go to my local gaming group
more this year, having a regular opponent now.
My old, poor battered orks have seen some action and have come off worse
for it in most games.

So, as you can see I’ve had a slow but varied year. Now, enough of the past on to my
resolutions. I am hoping to revisit this
throughout the year marking off, or mentioning what I have achieved off of the
following list in 2013, and at the end like this one, I’ll do a little post
about it all.

My dream one day...

This isn't something that I have chatted on extensively on my blog, it has usually been exclusively for my miniature gaming hobby (or in my case, painting). However, I am a HUGE boardgaming fan. I love boardgames, in many cases if offered play one with my friends or doing almost anything else, the games win it each time.

I wasn't always a huge fan, until university I never played them with my family. Then one year, just after Christmas a housemate turned up with one of my favourite games (even though it hates me*), Talisman. I think it is one of those games many older GW gamers will be familiar with. The newer version, produced by Fantasy Flight, is great and keeps getting more expansions each year. And gets mental. After this, the boardgame bug sunk its teeth into me. I started with basic games which everyone can enjoy - Articulate, Trivial Pursuit and Risk.

Since leaving uni, I have begun to gather games. Since moving to Leeds I have tripled my gaming collection, much to the love of my dear fiancée. One of the reasons being my soon-to-be father-in-law is also a huge board gaming fan. He even runs a gaming group that meets weekly in Leeds to play. Then there is the near weekly gaming at his house with the family. In all - lots of gaming. The only problem I have is, they don't play the games I really want to play. Personally I love Munchkin, and need to play more of the games I own before I can "safely"** buy more.

It's not only these things that has gotten me really wanting to play board games, there is also a awesome youtube channel that started up earlier this year. Under the group of Geek and Sundry, the channel is Tabletop. In this, Will Wheaton plays a selection of boardgames with people from the world of geekery. Not only has this show given me a great number of games I want to own, but I also have a little man crush on Will Wheaton. No idea what it is, but the man is awesome.

So, now you know my brief history with board gaming and coming into it. I briefly wanted to chat about why I love them. The kind of game I enjoy playing do tend to get labelled as being Geeky games, probably because of the topic but also due to them complexity (or perceived complexity). Not that I mind this. Now, I know I have rambled about me and my history with boardgames but now I'm going to ramble some more.

My own current collection

I think perhaps my biggest love of boardgames is the social aspect. Playing games with a bunch of friends is very sociable, you get to hang out with friends and win at shit. How is that no sociable? As I mentioned above, I play with my fiancée's family more than anything else and it's great. It is also a great way to get to know someone - and when it's a game between friends, then it is usually a nice relaxed atmosphere Unless you're playing Munchkin. Then it's each player for themselves.

In addition to this, it's a cheap night. Rather than going out and paying prices for drinks, you crash round someone's house for a few hours and all it'll cost you is a few snacks and some drink. Sorted! And some games get very fun when everyone is a little inebriated. ;) Admittedly you have to have the right group and not get smashed while playing unless everyone else is.

Nurgle's favourite game

I love games, lots of them and I'll briefly cover my favourite few...

7wonders. A wonderful game, with simple to understand rules. Anyone can quickly jump into a game and pick it up, it also has lots of different strategies for victory. Has yet to loose it's interest.

Pandemic. A co-op game where you will never win unless you actually do work together. I've had a number of games, and so far have only won three times. And that is on the easy setting. :O

Talisman. A loooooong game, can easily take a good three hours (minimum) but is loads of fun. A favourite among old GW gamers and myself. I will win. Does take a lot of room also, if you have the expansions. All of them. Getting there!

Backstabbing in action!

Munchkin. A great game where everyone just wants a bit of fun. It can take a long time to win with groups just screwing each other over, but at the same time can be mental and loads of fun.

So, those are my choices out of the games I have played/owned. I have others but am yet to play them more than once but they do seem like loads of fun. I just need more people to play with in Leeds!

* Every time I play, I die without fail at least twice.
** Safely in that the missus won't hang me for it.

So, entering into the later stages of December I have had to push myself to finish this guy off. I just have the base to complete now and he is ready to be sent off to a fellow forum member.

The book I really happy with, perhaps the little sketches could have been done a little better but the worn look I think works really well. You can see it better in the second photo.

The skull top does look a little bland but is better in person. It's an old GW skull and seems to lack much definition.

I'm still really happy with the red, turned out well despite almost being purple.

Hopefully before the New Year I'll have this guy done and then sent off.
It has only been about three months, but finally I can get the dwarfs out for display. This is all the dwarfs I have painted and based for the new look dwarf army. I have also put on the top shelf the random minis I have painted and have with me (there are still some at the parents or need some repainting).

The top shelf is full of random minis, some I have painted for contest others just for fun and practice. The group on the far right that you can't really see is the Possessed Mordheim gang I painted some time a go now. The left hand side are all the dwarf minis that I have painted to a decent degree - I have plenty of other random ones to go up yet!

A nice close up of the centre here. Yes, that marine (a Howling Griffon) has lost his hand. It was originally holding a combat shield, just awaiting a freehand symbol of a Griffon - like his shoulder pad. I wasn't brave enough to freehand at all really then.

The necron is what I received last year as a secret santa project I hold each year on Librarium-Online.com. We're in the process of this now, so more on that later. The Chaplain is from my original space marine chapter, the Scions of Ra. He has a freehanded symbol on his shoulder but my proudest part about him, is that I managed to lay some greenstuff over his eye to make it looked raked. And next to him is Grimgor Ironhide.

Some minis I am very pleased to have on display once again. Dwarfs. I do love painting these guys. I also like having a sort of evolution of sorts. You'll see here, two Bugman's. I am missing the old one, which I have somewhere ready for a repaint (though I recently sold off his rangers) and the newer one from WHW.

There is also the old White Dwarf model. Once again I have more of these (one of this model still in the packet), including the old 80s version and the limited edition White Dwarf on Shieldbearers (who are Gotrek and Bugman). I also have two versions of Gotrek and Felix to be repainted, a number of the older dwarf special characters (actually, I think I own all of them from the 5th edition book, and the 6th except for Thorgrim - I have the old version of him t my parents).

And now, my dwarf army. I apparently misjudged just how many dwarfs I have for this army. There are 3 20 strong units with great weapons, plus another 18. One unit of 20 with hand weapons. 20 quarrellers, 10 thunderers and 20 metal longbeards. Two war machines (stone thrower converted into a mortar) and five heroes. In all, a good haul!

That said, I still have in my cases 20 Ironbreakers, 30 slayers and 20 old metal miners. Still more to go! :D

********
Right. Secret Santa. It works exactly the same as it normally does, but with miniatures. I have run this for the past three or four years now, and have had a whale of a time doing it. Even though I am sure I've only received a single mini. Last year I painted up Mannfred Von Carstein - one of my favourite vampire minis (I HATE the new 'bald' version. Stupid looking bastard.). This time around I have once again gone down the undead route (I have no idea why...) and going for a converted necromancer. I haven't gotten pictures, as he is in pieces for ease of painting, but hopefully soon.

He is based off of the empire wizard plastic kit, with a skull topped staff and a grimoire. The base I am thinking of having a grave stone, or a dead body/ skeleton breaking though the ground. Or him being up on a rock. Not sure yet.

After this guy I think I'm going to restart my 40k ork army. I have plenty of spare bitz lying about. I am hoping to convert them more and possibly going for a burnt orange scheme rather than the turquoise. I might keep the latter and just add the new ones on as a new 'tribe' or something similar. So look out for a test ork in the new year.

So, finally, the slayer is done. I had a ball of a time painting him up, and he made me remember that I love to paint dwarfs and I think I'm quite good at it! This guy was also a reminder to try new stuff - the tattoos and the banner for example - and only with practise will I improve.

The finished slayer on his base. The axe blade I am still not happy with, I have some real trouble painting silver metallics. I can never seem to get them to look right, the shading and layers are too similar I have found.

The rest of him though, I am happy with.

The trousers were a little bit of an experiment. They were originally going to be blue but the shading on these was very strong. But the dark contrast works well here.

A good shot of the wood grain. Something I am still practising with, some of it is still a little too thick to look good. But this one worked really quite well. His beards highlights show up really well here, I had a hard time with the orange but it worked out well in the end.

A nice shot of his skin and tattoos. The skin I am particually happy with. It took me a while to be happy with it, but the more I looked the more I liked. That said, doing a unit of 30 of them might drive me crazy.

More shots of his tattoos. Just some simple designs, runes or just patterns, it looks better than empty to my eyes. He had a lot of empty skin.

The base is inspired by the book I'm reading: "The War of Vengeance - The Great Betrayal" by Nick Kyme. This, if you don't know, is about the war of dwarfs and the high elves on the Old World. I have enjoyed it so far, and not been quite so critical as I have seen others of the authors details (will discuss this at a later date) But the banner is an elf one. I fancied doing something that had been stomped into the ground, I'm unsure as to whether or not the torn look of the bottom of the banner worked. I like the broken spear, but again the broken parts might not be that obvious.

In addition all my stuff sold. Thanks to anyone who bid, and I made a hell of a lot! £298.86 from all my auctions! The Blood Bowl team didn't really go for what I would have truly liked, something for me to work on next time - promote them better and price the start a little higher. In the end it's final price was £48, which still isn't that bad but would have loved to have it sell for more.

Right, been a little while but I have slowly been working on this slayer. I was going to avoid tattoos, but then I figured that a slayer without isn't just a slayer. So, I added some simple designs. I need to do freehand to improve upon it. I might revisit it before the mini is done. Just the base left now.

(Some strong glare off of the axe here)

And some of my ebay auctions are still going, the blood bowl team included, and they'll be ending in about 14 hours. You can see them here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/kuffeh/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3686

So go buy stuff! I have so far made about £140 off of my other auctions. :D
So, I finally got around to posting this on ebay. I am a novice at this, so the description/posting might be a bit lame. I'm hoping it'll go for a decent amount. I have also put some other older stuff up as well.

Here's hoping!

http://r.ebay.com/eJZOiI - Blood Bowl Team
http://r.ebay.com/HHfzM5 - Warrior Priest with great weapon
http://r.ebay.com/1Kgwgz - Blood Angel Librarian Conversion
http://r.ebay.com/LT7rYK - 2x Old Rhinos
http://r.ebay.com/clayoJ - Metal Bugman's Rangers
http://r.ebay.com/CoCXoR - Old Ork vehicles
http://r.ebay.com/aiMJRm - Death Company with Jump Packs
http://r.ebay.com/XPjQyh - Graphics Card

And this thing sold really quickly, I do think I could have gotten more but £30 isn't bad!

http://r.ebay.com/d9WkkM - Metal Longbeards

Cheers for any interest. I am hoping to get more work on the slayer this weekend.

Tonight I started on the slayer for the dwarf contest being held on Librarium Online. I haven't painted such a lot of flesh for some time, so I was practising painting some skin and working on my blending/highlighting. The hair was blocked in to show where it all is and work around it. So here he is when the flesh was started.

And after highlights. I did wash his skin down a bit too much I think. But it still looks good.

THEY. ARE. FINALLY. DONE.

Yes. As you might have guessed over this last month I have been painting up a blood bowl team to be sold off. It has been one hell of a slog. Too much of one really. But they are done and I'm happy to sell them off, and I think I never want to touch yellow paint over again. You have all seen the players before, but I'm going to put up pictures anyway, the thing to show this time are the markers.

There are four in total; two re-roll, one turn and one score. I was stuck for ideas on most of these, except the turn. I really liked the idea of a team manager on the sidelines giving off instructions, so here he is.

I decided to try and give him a look like he was wearing a suit, or the fantasy kind of one. So I went for grey and added a badge on the jack for the team. In his hand he holds a team book, with a play in action. He's stepping over the line giving them orders. (And I noticed the white, it's superglue, I'll fix it.)

The second is quite plain looking; a simple banner. I struggled to think what works for a score marker, and what better than a banner? I have left it blank on purpose, so if someone buys it they can add their own slogan or team name.

The last two are re-roll markers. Again I was at a loss, so a generic book strapped to some wood found a way. I think I am least happy with the idea of these two, but I think I painted them quite well and am happy overall with their look.

And now team pictures. Each player has his number on the base, so it is easier to spot during play.

These will be on ebay as soon as I have sorted out my paypal account. Unless someone wants to make a nice generous offer? ;) I'll also be putting some other stuff up, old miniatures and minis I don't want.
Now, if you'll excuse me I need to start to plan my secret santa. And it WON'T be including any yellow!!Kuffehhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15362276686961154685noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1556299501260543912.post-12320538357601509842012-10-27T20:39:00.003+01:002012-10-27T20:39:49.698+01:00Blood Bowl team is almost done.
They are nearly done! Finally. I am a bit sick and tired of this team now, but also pretty damn pleased with them. They all have numbers on and completed bases. The bases I took from my dwarf team I have done before, but added some mud patches to make it look like the pitch was well played. I think it turned out really well.

Below are some pictures. I now have a few more things to paint up, a turn, score and two re-roll markers. Pictures of them will be incoming later this week.
This week has been the fiancée's birthday, then a gig to see Marcus Brigstock, a gaming night and drinks. All in all a full week. I did find a small amount of time to get some painting done. I now have three quarters of a completed team. So close! Three more to go, then I need to add numbers, bases and doing some markers.

I am stuck on the markers though, I am thinking an eagle for the turn marker but other than that I am currently at a loss.Kuffehhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15362276686961154685noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1556299501260543912.post-81738467238844614582012-10-10T22:39:00.004+01:002012-10-10T22:39:49.619+01:00[Blood Bowl] More players
Slowly been working on these guys and now have two more members painted up bringing the total to three. I am really happy with the yellow, it doesn't show in these quick pictures but it is really quite vibrant. The glove and ball has been done red-brown to make them stand out from brown. I'm going to paint numbers on the shoulder pads at a later time, after they are done.
